Razorback Club plans banquet

The Greers Ferry Lake Area Razorback Club is hosting a banquet in Clinton featuring speakers Chuck Barrett, the voice of the Razorbacks, and Razorbacks baseball coach Dave Van Horn.

The event will be Aug. 23 at First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 211 First Baptist Road. The evening will include a buffet dinner, a live auction and a silent auction by All American Classics as well as the speakers.

Van Horn took over the reins of the Razorback baseball program in 2002 replacing the legendary coach Norm DeBriyn. Since then the program has not missed a beat as Van Horn has taken the Razorbacks to an SEC Championship, three SEC Western Division Titles, 10 NCAA tournament berths and three College World Series appearances. The Diamond Hogs finished third in the nation this season.

The live auction will include Razorback memorabilia and 2012 football tickets, all approximately on the 25 yard line lower section.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each or $200 for a reserved table of eight. For tickets or more information call Todd or Amy at 745-2060 or Leon Nicholson at (501) 730-3382.
