Razorback Club banquet set for Aug. 14

Jimmy Dykes, new coach of the University of Arkansas Lady Razorbacks basketball team, will be in Clinton next week as the special guest speaker at the third annual Razorback Club banquet.

The banquet is sponsored by the Greers Ferry Lake Area Razorback Club. Tickets for the Aug. 14 event are available at several locations in Clinton including the Pottery Shop, First Service Bank, First Security Bank and Simmons First Bank. Doors open at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Clinton. Items up for auction include a helmet signed by head football coach Bret Bielema, a golf ball autographed by former Razorback standout Stacy Lewis and 30-35 yard line home football tickets.

Also scheduled to speak at the banquet is Shauna Estes-Taylor, UA women’s golf coach.

Before being named UA women’s basketball coach in March, Dykes was a sports caster for ESPN and ABC Sports.

Dykes is a 1985 graduate of the University of Arkansas where he played basketball for the Razorbacks and former head coach Eddie Sutton.

Previous speakers at the Razorback Club’s Clinton banquet were men’s head basketball coach Mike Anderson and baseball coach Dave van Horn.
