Former ESPN analyst and new Razorbacks women’s basketball head coach Jimmy Dykes will be the speaker at the Greers Ferry Lake Area Razorback Club’s third annual banquet in Clinton. The Clinton Yellow Jackets have won the Adidas Consolation Bracket of the 2014 OrthoSurgeons Shootout of the South.

The Jackets defeated Hot Springs Lakeside, 32-21, for the title.

The Southside Hornets made a clean sweep of the IA baseball titles, claiming the Conference, District, Regional and State championships. The team ended the season with a 30-6 record. Except for one, the Hornet losses were to larger schools from higher division. On May 23, the Hornets won the 1A State Tournament at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, defeating the Armorel Tigers 7-3.

The South Side Senior Shooting teams won first and second places in the North Region AYSSP Regional Tournament on May 31 at Jacksonville. Winning first was the South Side Squad Lead Count with a score of 237/250. Team members are Donald Farley, Dylan Purviance, Taylor Holland, Savannah Waddle and Clay Evans. Second place went to the South Side Squad Shutter Down Boyz with a score of 233/250. Team members are Wade Bradford, Clay Williams, Cade Brown, Mason Linn and BJ Bush. The teams are coached by Travis Linn, Bryan Waddle, Tracy Bush, Toby Hendrix and Dikelin Evans.
