Photos by Halee Hillyer Caden Hickman (pictured) and the Clinton Yellow Jackets were in fine form at last week’s track and field meet in Harrison. Senior and junior boys placed second in a large field of schools, and junior girls placed first. Mitchell McNeil and Allie Hensley received MVPs, bringing the junior teams trophy total to four.

Levi Leonard of Bee Branch killed this turkey on opening morning of the youth hunt. The turkey weighed 19 pounds had a 9 3/4 inch beard and 1-ne inch spurs. He is the son of Adam Leonard of Bee Branch.

The Clinton High School weight team received 3rd place in the state for the 4A division with a total weight of 4,615 pounds. (From left) Harrison Lester, a junior, is the state champ in the 242 pound weight class. He bench pressed 325 pounds and power cleaned 300 pounds; Robert Ferrell, a junior, is the defending state champ in the 148 pound weight class. He bench pressed 275 pounds and power cleaned 245 pounds; Stephen Sappington, a senior, took third in the 220 pound weight class. He bench pressed 315 pounds and power cleaned 270 pounds.
