Driver, daughter killed in crash

A Bee Branch woman and her 4-year-old daughter were killed in a head-on collision last week.

An 18-wheeler ran off the Highway 16 and went down the embankment ending up in Archey Creek in Clinton last Thursday, June 5. Clinton police said a vehicle stopped in front of the truck and the driver chose to hit the water to avoid the car. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment, and no other injuries were reported.
