A 1943 World War ll big gun, on loan to the city of Clinton by the Choctaw VFW, has been set up by the War Memorial Sculpture in the downtown City Park. Not much is known about the gun and anyone with more information about it is asked to call Councilman Sammy Ward at 745-2654 or City Hall at 745-8110.

Winners of the recent spelling bee at Clinton Intermediate School were (from left) 4th grade K.J. Williams; 6th grade Sadie Shannon; and 5th grade Zachary Barnes.

Clinton High School’s Grant McMurry was second chair, first band drum set player for the All Region Jazz Band. He was featured this year as drum set player in the halftime marching show with the High School Band program. Grant competed for this position against drummers from all over the region of the state association, which included Conway, Russellville, Greenbrier, Dover, Dardanelle and Heber Springs.
