The Miss Clinton High pageant held last week at the school auditorium raised enough money to pay lodging costs for all 31 girls attending cheerleading camp this summer. Judges were Miss UCA Chelsea Jones, Miss Petit Jean Valley Alyson Tyler and Sarah Staley, who has held many titles and currently sits on three pageant boards. There were 62 contestats. Winners were: Tiny Miss Queen-Alora Moudy; Petite Miss Queen-Kylie Sasaki; Toddler Miss Queen-Kinley Clute; Little Miss Queen-Peyton Hoyle; Young Miss Queen-Lilyann Barnes; Pre-Teen Queen-Shelby Dawson; Miss Clinton High-Daly Dufrene; and Junior Miss Clinton High-Livie Dufrene.

This is Jessie, a young mixed-breed female. She was adopted at the Tour for Life event, but was returned to Van Buren County Animal Control. Another adoption that fell through was that of Speckles, the big mixed-breed girl featured recently in the Democrat. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment, but adopting an animal should be a life-time commitment. Give it a lot of thought and when you’re sure it’s right, visit or call the shelter at 745-2121 and see what furry friends are waiting for you there.
