Shirley Elementary students and staff enjoyed an afternoon with story teller Bil Lepp. This opportunity was provided by North Central Foundation for the Arts in Education.

(From left) Maud Huber, Linda Yarman, Marguerite Dory, Janet Carson, Linda Pratt, Claudia Sands and Gracie Campbell attended the Plant-Nurture-Grow Leadership Training Conference in Little Rock. The conference was presented by the Horticulture Department of the University of Arkansas. The Master Gardeners participated in group discussions, and shared ideas of how to make the program stronger, more visible and fun for its members. For information on becoming a Master Gardener, call County Extension agent Danny Griffin at 745-7117 or Verna Hicks at 884-3164. Deadline to apply for this year’s classes is Oct. 24.
