Shirley’s Boo Bash and Clinton’s Scare on the Square drew crowds, young and old alike, for their downtown Halloween trick-or-treating and entertainment. There were costumes and hayrides and lots of candy. At the Van Buren County Fairgrounds the Haunted Hayride drew more than 600, including some people from California. The United Way had a Haunted House for those awaiting their turn on the spooky ride. The Van Buren County Rescue Squad coordinated the event, and the proceeds will benefit charities within the county.
