Elter Ray Tucker, 75, of Clinton, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Ozark Health Medical Center. She was born in Texas on March 26, 1938, to the late John Henry and Evelyn Capehart Hughes.
She was a non-denominational Christian, and was the CFO at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital for many years. Ray loved card games and dominoes, books and crossword puzzles. But most of all she loved her family.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Winston Tucker; two daughters, Deidre Tucker and Anita Tucker, both of Clinton; three grandchildren, Drew Tucker and wife Jessica, Taylor Tucker and Sam Tucker, all of Clinton; one great-grandchild, Ella Tucker of Clinton; her sister and best friend, Doris Hughes Chandler of Clinton; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Huie Cemetery Clinton, Ark., with Pastor Ester Bass officiating.

Donald “Don” Raymond McGovern, 81, of the Fairfield Bay/Shirley area, passed away Oct. 15, 2013, at his residence. Don spent his career in Hollywood working in the movie and film industry. Don spent 50 years with Screen Actors Guild and was instrumental in the founding of the Lincoln Center in New York City. Don also spent 20 years in charge of the supervision of the staging of the Academy Awards.
He is most recognized for his movie The Last Detail with Jack Nicholson and Randy Quaid, where he played the Bartender. This movie was voted 1 of 100 best scenes filmed in America. Don had a role in six movies with Jack Nicholson. He also was the understudy to Paul Newman in The Hustler, where he taught Paul Newman to play pool and was an avid pool player his entire life. He served as assistant to Elia Kazan who directed such Broadway plays as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and A Streetcar Named Desire. Two movies with Don are now showing on U-Tube: The Wicked Die Slowly and The Last Detail. Don also is a Navy Veteran.
He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., to Bartholomew and Marguerite Elser McGovern, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Smith McGovern, who lives in Shirley, Ark.; son Donald R. Von Meter of New York, N.Y.; daughters Meagan M. McGovern of Bellingham, Wash., Katharine Fagan McGovern of Galveston, Texas, Morgain M. McGovern of Van Nuys, Calif., and Nora F. McGovern of San Francisco. Don is also survived by his brother, Terrence McGovern of Oklahoma City.
The family is holding a memorial service at a later date in Hollywood, Calif.
Sheila Treat Stroud, 66, was born on Oct. 1, 1947, to Orville ”Dude” Treat and Wilma Griffin Treat. She graduated from Clinton High as part of the Class of 1965. At the time of her death, Oct. 14, 2013, she and her surviving husband of 47 years, Ron Stroud, were living in Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonja Sanders, who died in 1995. Sheila is survived by one daughter, Kristy Sanders; four grandchildren, Jessie, Gage, Brook and Savannah Sanders, all of Oklahoma City; one brother, Michael Treat of Clinton, Ark.
Sheila was a Christian and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Services were held at the Southgate Baptist Church in Moore, Okla.
Patricia Ann Jennings, 70, of Bee Branch, Ark., passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Richmond, Calif., to Oscar Elwood and Audrey (Neely) Bankston.
She was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Oscar Bankston Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Richard Jennings of the home; three children, David Jennings of Bee Branch, Ark., Becky (Roy) Sullivan of Bee Branch, and Missy (Steve) MeGee of Damascus, Ark.; four grandchildren, Devon (Sierra) Sullivan of Bee Branch, Dustin Jennings of Enola, Ark., Kendal Sullivan of Bee Branch, and Sarah MeGee of Damascus; one brother, Jim (Dorthey) Bankston, and a sister, Pricilla Hudler, both of Fresno, Calif.; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
Pallbearers: John Harmon, John Via, Devon Sullivan, Dustin Jennings, Zac Capps, Lynn Raines, and James Robert Jennings.
Visitation was Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, and funeral service was 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark., with Rev. Daniel Williams officiating. Burial was in Morganton Cemetery.
