Charley Tankersley

Charley Tankersley, 98, of Shirley, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. He was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Shirley to the late Jesse and Minnie (Elliot) Tankersley.

He was preceded in death by brothers Luther and Harley Tankersley, and five sisters, Verna Nixon, Elizabeth Bloodworth, Thelma Plumlee, Jessie Holland, Gloria Eoff. He is survived by his brother, Herman Tankersley.

Funeral was Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Shirley Church of Christ. Burial was at Bradford Cemetery with Military Honors.

Vicky Davis

Vicky Susan Davis, 58, of Dennard, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. She was born March 18, 1955, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Billy J. and Bonnye Lee (Nunley) Davis.

She graduated from South Side High School in 1972 and was retired from Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her parents, and one brother, Jimmie Davis of Dennard.

Memorial service was Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Dennard Community Church. Cremation arrangements by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

Richard Conaway

Richard Dale Conaway, 58, of Shirley, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. He was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Tampa, Fla., to Jimmy Dale and Betty Jean (Duffield) Conaway.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy and Jennifer Conaway of Shirley; daughter, Melissa Conaway Bonds of Dolan Springs, Ariz.; four grandchildren; sisters Jeannie O’Rourke and Michelle Barkley, both of Vero Beach, Fa.; and many friends.

Reedon Clingman

Reedon Michael Clingman, 22 months old, of Justin, Texas, earned his wings and went home to be with Jesus Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. He was born Nov. 1, 2011, in Conway, Ark., to Tiara Hastings and Wesley Clingman.

Reedon is survived by his mom and dad, Tiara Hastings and Wesley Clingman of Justin, Texas; grandparents, Jamie and Trent Clingman and Stephanie and John Hastings III.; great-grandparents, Ann and John Hastings Jr., and Gloria Shannon and David Jones; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers: John William Hastings IV, Brandon Clingman, Dustin Clingman, Kyle Human, Colin Bonds, and Steven Jones.

Honorary pallbearers: John Hastings III, Trent Clingman, David Jones, and John Hastings Jr.

Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Clinton, with Pastors Billy Reece and Jim Edwards officiating. Burial was at Clinton Cemetery.

Edward Hill

Edward C. Hill Jr. passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013. He was 74 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Hill, and their three children, Lynda Beene and husband Tony Beene, Eddie Hill and wife Carolyn Hill, Cyndi Dowell and husband Joe Dowell. Ed also had two brothers, Dr. Robert A. Hill and family of West Virginia, and Richard C. Hill and family of Pennsylvania. Among others that will miss him are his 17 grandkids and 23 great-grandkids. Ed was a member of the Clinton congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and the 8 million spiritual brothers and sisters who are looking forward to welcoming him back in the resurrection. “You will call, and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning.”- Job 14:15

Rosalie Villeneuve

Rosalie “Toots” Villeneuve, 99, of Shirley, formally of McHenry, Ill., born Feb. 17, 1914, to the late William and Emma Rosengart, passed away Aug. 28, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Spankuch; second husband, Donald Villeneuve; daughter, Shirley Frankowski; grandson, Randy Spankuch; and great-granddaughter, Sara Shuck.

Rosalie is survived by her son, Ron Spankuch; stepchildren, Julie, Jean and Patrick Villeneuve; grandchildren, Lynn Shuck, Glenn Spankuch and Cindy McGlure; great-grandchildren, William, Justin, Sadie, Rosalie, Ryan and Jake.
