Sam Biggs

James “Sam” Biggs, 84, of Scotland, Ark., died July 19, 2013. He was born Jan. 23, 1929, to Jim and Mae (Wolverton) Biggs.

He was preceded in death by daughter Margaret Thompson; son David Clark Biggs; five brothers; one sister.

He is survived by wife JoAnn Biggs; children, Jim Biggs, Shirley Randell, Bill Biggs, Judy Medlock, Mike Biggs; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside service 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Scotland.

Harold Blair

Harold Loyd Blair, 69, of Seligman, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, in the VA Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He was born in Marshall, Ark., on July 2, 1944, the son of Polly (Booher) and Frank Blair. On July 19, 1970, in Scotland, Ark., he married his best friend and the love of his life, Geneva Marie Harris, who survives.

He is also survived by his son Harold Wayne Blair and his wife, Jennifer Marie Blair who reside in Washburn with their boys, Zackary Wayne and Trevor Allen; a daughter, Tammie Jane Escoe and her husband, Alan Kent Escoe who reside in Springdale, Ark., with their children, Austin Wayne, Caitlin Marie, Faith Zoe, and Tyler Christian; as well as, many children who had lived or visited their home over the years and were treated as their own.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Melba Furnas and Edna Davis; and two brothers, Charles Blair and Dean Blair.

Harold grew and received his education in Arkansas. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he entered Springdale Vo-Tech College where he studied to be a mechanic. He also worked for a seed company and did farm labor. In 1976, he and Geneva moved their family from Green Forest, Ark., to make their home in Seligman, Mo. His favorite pastimes included treasure hunting, spending time with his family, hunting, teasing his grandchildren and most of all fishing. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family. He shared his many tales with everyone he met. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was saved and baptized at the Highview Church in Lampe, Mo.

Burial with a Patriot Guard Escort and military honors was Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in King Cemetery, Seligman, Mo., under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday in OK Assembly of God Church, Washburn, Mo.

Donald Brown Sr.

Donald H. Brown Sr., 87, of Huntsville Ark., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013. He was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Shirley, Ark., to the late J.W. and Harriet (Huggins) Brown. Donald was also preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Brown.

He was of the Baptist Faith and a World War II veteran of the United States Army. Donald was a retired machinist and a very hard worker. After his retirement he served as a missionary with Life Action Ministries in Buchanan, Mich.

Donald is survived by his children, Susan Doty of Conyers, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Brown Jr. of Niles, Mich.; step-children Jeff Ward, Doug Ward, Tracy Ferrell, Donna Norman and Jeanie Buice; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
