Mary Spence

Mary Louise Spence, 73, of Bee Branch, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Born in Trumann, Ark., on July 3, 1939, she was a daughter to the late Jeff Hughie Crane and Pearl Claudine (Furnish) Crane.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from Sears. Louise was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, in both the Bartlett, Tenn., and Damascus, Ark., Chapters.

In addition to her parents, a daughter, Tammy Gallina, preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Bob J. Spence; son, Bobby Spence, of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter, Cathy Braswell and husband Ross also of Memphis; son-in-law, Paul Gallina; a sister, Helen Hutchins and husband Windell of Bee Branch; grandchildren Christopher Gallina, Elisabeth Gallina, Daniel Braswell and Caitlin Braswell; and a great-grandchild, Mila Gallina.

The funeral service, under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home (501-679-2575) was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Stephens officiating. Interment was at Pine Mountain Cemetery, near Damascus, with Christopher Gallina, Daniel Braswell, Jeffery Todd Hutchins, Zachery Hutchins, Jeff Hutchins, and Todd Hutchins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were, Glenn Stambaugh and Michael Stacks.

E.E. Vaughan

E.E. “Tut” Vaughan, 94, of Alread, Ark., left this Earth on Sunday, May 19, 2013. He was born March 28, 1919, at Rex, Ark., to the late Rockwell and Annie Vaughan.

He was the toughest man on the mountain, a man of great stature who believed that a man was only as good as his word. His basic philosophy was always to leave a place better than you found it. His passion beyond family was hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time outside on the swings with Granny, watching his grand babies play and visiting with his good neighbors. He was a great man who helped everyone. If you asked him for a nickel, he’d sure give you a dime.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; two grandsons, Bradon Barnes and Billy Don Watts; great-grandson, Steven Joe Vaughan; two sons-in-law, LeRoy Fiene and Donald Nelson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Edna May (Lancaster) Vaughan; Bob and Amy Owen and Nickalas Koone, all of the home; his children, Jack (Omia) Vaughan, Hazel Nelson, Joe (Carol) Vaughan, all of Alread; and Faye Fiene of Isanti, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren; and many close friends.

Pallbearers: Scott Vaughan, Keith Vaughan, Bob Owen, Charlie Whorton, Michael Shane Godfrey, Wayne Harvey, and Chad Owen.

Visitation was Monday, May 20, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Friendship Church, Rupert Community, with Pastor J.W. Koone and Stanley Tilley. Burial with U.S. Army Military Honors followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton. Charles Holley

Charles Doyle Holley, 58, of Warren, Ark., passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. He was born July 19, 1954, in Clinton, Ark., to the late Johnnie Bradford and Bertha (Harmon) Holley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James Holley. He is survived by his four brothers, Bob Holley, Ted (Dixie) Holley of Clinton, David (Kathy) Holley of Greers Ferry, Ark., and Johnny (Eva) Holley of Little Rock; three sisters, Mary Young and Sue Engels of Clinton, and Dana (Art) Henson of Little Rock; and a host of family and friends, and his special extended family at SEAHDC, in Warren.

Pallbearers will be his nephews. Family and friends gathered at the Pee Dee Cemetery Building on Tuesday and the graveside service and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2013, at Pee Dee Cemetery, Clinton, with Pastor James Lovell officiating.

Oran Green

Oran Dale Green, 79, of Shirley, Ark., passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He was born April 25, 1934, at Turkey Creek, Ark., to the late Willis Leslie and Altha (Hinesley) Green.

Oran loved the farm and his horses and cows, having begun farming by purchasing his first animals while still in high school. He loved livestock auctions and worked at many of them around the state for over 52 years. The joy of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who kept him busy after retirement and his wife of 55 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Hayden and Ewin Green; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and two nephews. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa (Richardson) Green of the home; son, Tom Green (Melinda) of Dolph, Ark.; a daughter, Dale (Terry) Tice of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; four grandchildren, Leslie (Willy) Saravia of Dallas, Texas, Kara (Derick) McBroom of Shirley, Justin (Candice) Green of Shirley, and Lana Jason of Dolph; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Luke, Lynsee, Shane, and Sabrina McBroom, and Laycee and Rylee Green; sister, Lorene Stanley of Wellsville, Kansas; two brothers, Doyle Green (Elvina) of Mountain View, Ark., and Hershel Green (Pat) of Pacific, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Alice (Walt) Moore and Jean (Joe) Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Alta) Richardson, and Dub (Judi) Richardson, and special cousin Loyce Green and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunt Nellie Green, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers: Douglas Green, Albert McCombs, Dennis Martin, J.W. Yates, Doyle Hall, Tommy Rand, and Mack Litaker. Honorary pallbearers: Jack Simpkins, Lane Brown, Melvin Evans, Mike Nix, Dan Eoff, and Jerry Foley.

Visitation was Friday, May 17, 2013, and funeral service was 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark., with Pastor Stan Sutterfield and Floyd Wadkins officiating.
