Leo Phillips, 86, of Lo Gap, Ark., passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center. He was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Clifton, Ariz., to the late Clarence Elmer Phillips and Mildred (Collett) Phillips. He is also preceded in death by brother Delbert Phillips and sister Clara Phillips.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta (Gardner) Phillips; two sons, Clarence (Viva) Phillips of Clinton, Ark., and Leo Clayton (Diane) Phillips of Bristal, Va.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother Elmer Phillips of Las Cruces, N.M.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Scotland Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Scotland Baptist Church, with Rev. Virgil Lemings officiating. Burial will follow at Foster Cemetery.

Ermie Elmo Loftis of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on April 8, 2013. He was born Feb. 27, 1924, to Laborn and Lizzie Loftis. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Allene, and a daughter, Susie Rhodes.
He will be greatly missed by his sons, Farrell (Barbara), Ben (Kathy), Donnie; and daughter, Diane (Robert); along with 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Mason (Esther) Ray; and many more nephews, nieces, family and friends.
E.E. was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and never missed a Sunday until his health prevented regular attendance this year. A devoted supporter of Little League Baseball, he was a manager/coach at Junior Deputy for 47 years, leaving behind many generations of baseball players. Loftis Field was dedicated in honor of Ermie E. Loftis. He held the post of Junior Deputy Chaplain for many years and even after retiring still led the group in prayer at many ceremonies.
He loved sharing the vegetables of his garden with family, church and friends.
Visitation was April 11, and funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Central Church of Christ, Little Rock, with Leon Barnes officiating. Burial was at Quattlebaum Cemetery in Bee Branch, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
Brenda Sue Snider, 63, of Clinton, died Sunday, April 14, 2013. Brenda was born June 25, 1949, in Monett, Ark., to the late Johnny and Christine (Prince) Williams. She is also preceded in death by sister, Diane Moore.
Mrs. Snider was an athlete in her younger days, and in her adult years enjoyed coaching girls’ softball. She was a loving wife, mother and “Nanny,” and a friend to everyone. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, George Snider of Clinton; children Theresa Martin and Doug Snider and wife Tara, all of Clinton; brothers Johnny Wayne Williams of Alco, Ark., and Henry Wayne Williams of Cushman, Ark.; grandchildren Tori Bolden, Ty Snider and Tia Snider; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Friendship Baptist Church in Clinton, with the funeral service to begin at 1 p.m., Bro. Dean Housley officiating. Burial will follow at Huie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Kirkendoll, Rodney Jackson, Donnie Fletcher, Jerry Fletcher, Earl Hendrix, and Robert Sowell. Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Winn.

Cleda Gwendolyn Depew Berry, age 77, of Shirley passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Fairfield Bay. She was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Stone County, Ark., to William and Gretchen (Glasco) Depew.
She is survived by daughter Nancy (Green) and Edd Litaker; two grandchildren, Ladonna (Litaker) and Terry Rushing and Joseph and Jennie Litaker; five great-grandchildren, Jaile and Jacob Litaker and Layton, Autumn, and Weston Reeves; five brothers, Jim, Bob and Bill Depew and Curtis and Jimmy Green; two sisters, Delena Taylor and Dorthy Wilcox; and many nieces and nephews that she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Susan Beuill.
