Keith Milam

Keith Carson Milam, 79, of Hector, Ark., died March 18, 2013, at home. The son of William Herb and Myrtle (Sullins) Milam, he was born March 29, 1933, in Witt Springs, Searcy County, Ark.

Carson was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he had been a deacon and teacher since 1983. He was ordained at Springdale Missionary Baptist Church in Fenton, Mo., on Jan. 24, 1969. He was a retiree of Chrysler Corp., a member of the UAW Local Number 136 and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a family man and an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Weneford Milam of the home, Gerald Milam of DeSoto, Mo., and Dolphus Milam of Marshall, Ark. Survivors include his wife of over 56 years, Mary Delilah (Aday) Milam of Hector, Ark.; three sons, Randal of Arnold, Mo., Michael (Sheila) of Barnhart, Mo., and Daryl (Marlene) of Perryville, Mo.; daughter, Wreneta (Rodney) Johnson of Arnold, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters, Betty Loftin of Witt Springs, Ark., Wanda Bryant of North Little Rock, Ark., and Jean Owen of Bryant, Ark; brother, Dempsey Milam of Marshall, Ark.; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Clinton. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Revs. John Howard and Aaron Holt officiating. Rev. John E. Owen, husband of sister Jean, presided over the graveside service at Zion Hill Cemetery.
