Herbert Tester

Herbert H. “Chubby” Tester, 83, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Valley Ranch Nursing Home, Little Rock. He was born June 25, 1929, at Scotland, Ark., to the late Maston L. and Lucy (Williams) Tester.

He was a 50-year member of the Pipefitters Local #155 of Little Rock, and a member of Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge of Scotland and Clinton First Baptist Church. He was past president of Choctaw Shrine Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Avie Tester of Little Rock; daughter, Joan Warren (Bill) of Maumelle; son, Chuck Tester (Debbie) of Clinton; four grandchildren, Stony Tester of Clinton, Jill Parodi (Dan) of Panama City, Panama, Whitney Stacks (Court) of Bee Branch, and Krystil Brown (Chad) of Shirley; four great- grandchildren, Creed and Kendile Brown, Kinsey Stacks and Jake Parodi; brother, M.L. (Jackie) Tester of Center Ridge; two sisters, Odell Hefner of Clinton, and Ruthell Rhoten of Yakima, Wash.; and many close friends.

Pallbearers: Bill Warren, John Hamilton, Stony Tester, Chad Brown, Court Stacks, Dan Parodi, Roy St. Clair, and Dave Smith.

Honorary pallbearers: Joe Don Evans, Boyd Williams, and Benny Scarberry.

Visitation was Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton.

Funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Clinton with Pastor Greg Thompson officiating. Burial was at Hunter Hill Cemetery.
