Delinquent

A public auction for the sale of tax delinquent land in Van Buren County will be held at the County Courthouse Annex in Clinton at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, according to John Thurston, Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Owners of property sold at auction have 30 days to redeem the property following the sale.

Thurston also will be in the county on Thursday, Aug. 15, to present the county with a reproduction of an original land plat. He will be at the Courthouse Annex at 10 a.m.

Before you hunt

Hunter Education Class is set for 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Clinton Fire Department on Highway 65B. Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1968, who wants to hunt in Arkansas must take this class. Health care

The Clinton Area Rotary Club has two upcoming speakers to talk about the Affordable Care Act and how its implementation will affect small businesses and their employees. The Rotary Club meets at noon Wednesdays at Western Sizzlin in Clinton. Everyone is welcome.

On Aug. 28, insurance agent Susan Scarberry will speak. On Sept. 4, Mary Eakin with the Arkansas Department of Health will be the speaker.

In Conway, the Faulkner County library will offer Affordable Care Act Made Simple at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. Sept. 7. Representatives from The Living Affected Corp. will be on hand to share a short video and answer questions about Affordable Care Act and you. All library programs are free.
