What’s Going On

The Clinton School Board has voted to hire Scott Jones of Augusta as its new superintendent, board President Kyle Hensley notified the Democrat Tuesday morning. The board met Monday night to discuss the applicants.

Jones will replace James McGaha who is retiring at the end of his contract in June. McGaha has been superintendent for five years.

The Clinton School District is stepping up security on campus. According to a automated phone call from school resource officer Steve Bradley to parents, all visitors to any of the school campuses must check in at the office and receive a visitor’s badge. The badge must be returned to the office when the visitor leaves.

In a second change, anyone wishing to take lunch to a students must leave the food and drink at the office for the student to pick up. Formerly, parents were allowed to give the lunch to the students at the cafeteria.

This assistance is available by appointment only, through April 15. All assistance is free and confidential.

Taxpayers are requested to schedule their appointment after they have received all of their 2012 tax reporting documents, such as W-2’s, Social Security Forms SSA-1099, 1099 forms, and other year end tax documents.
