Warrant leads to multiple drug arrests

On March 14, 2014, deputies with the Van Buren County sheriff’s office and the Clinton Police Department made a traffic stop that yielded three arrests.
Deputies observed a person who had an active warrant leaving a local business.
Once the warrant was confirmed, officers with the Clinton Police Department assisted in the traffic stop of the vehicle that was occupied by the person who was the subject of the arrest warrant, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The two other occupants of the car were identified as having active warrants as well.
Deputies then noticed in plain view items of drug paraphernalia, the release states.
Further investigation revealed more paraphernalia and methamphetamine in the vehicle.
The 20th Judicial Drug Task Force was then called to assist with the investigation.
Johnathan Sturgeon, 33, of Damascus was arrested on a probation violation and taken to the Van Buren County Detention Center.
Terry Lapham, 50, of Dennard was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession ofmethamphetamine with intent to deliver. Lapham’s bond was set at $2,500.
Angela Sasaki, 27, of Greenbrier was arrested on an outstanding warrant as well as felony possession drug paraphernalia–methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $2,500.
