Snow amounts tie 1975 record

Clinton tied records during the Christmas 2012 snowfall, measuring amounts that had not been seen since 1975.

Clinton tied the record for the most amount of snow to fall in one day for the month of December. Six inches were recorded on Dec. 26, 2012, an amount that was also recorded Dec. 25, 1975, according to preliminary data from the National Weather Service.

Clinton also tied the record amount of snow to be recorded for the entire month of December by reaching 6 inches in 2012, an amount that was also reached in 1975.

The Weather Service has data on Clinton dating back to 1923.
