Reward offered in tractor theft

The Van Buren County sheriff’s office is offering rewards for information in two separate cases.

On Jan. 26, 2014, deputies responded to a report of a stolen tractor from a farm off of Pennington Road in the Bee Branch area. The reporting party stated that he went to feed his livestock on this date and noticed his tractor missing.

The tractor, a 1984 Massey Ferguson 275, was parked inside a barn beside the road.

The sheriff’s office is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible in this theft.

In the other case, deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of East Mountain Road on Jan. 27.

A resident in the area reported that he caught two suspects in the act of burglarizing an abandoned house. The owner then attempted to identify the vehicle and/or suspects at which time the suspects fled to Highway 92 East. The direction of travel was not known.

Deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect vehicle known as a black truck with a white stripe down the side. The vehicle may have damage to the drivers side door.

Anyone with information regarding this burglary is asked to contact the sheriff’s office. There is a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in this case.
