The 20th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has moved to revoke the probation of the driver of a logging truck involved in a fatal accident last week in Clinton.

Jerry Lyn Hickman, 39, of Bee Branch admitted to investigators on June 3, the day after the fatal accident, that he had used methamphetamine, according to court documents.

Hickman was on probation after a negotiated plea of guilty to a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine-cocaine on Feb. 5, 2013.

On June 2, 2014, Hickman was driving a logging truck when the trailer tire blew out, according to Arkansas State Police records.

After the blowout, the load of logs shifted, the trailer overturned and the logs spilled.

Two Mobley Construction crew members were killed when the logs came crashing across the construction site of the new Archey Fork Bridge they were working on. At least 19 others were injured.

The victims were identified as Hubert Keith Moore, 51, of Chester, and Ricardo Trochez, 40, of Atkins.

Plea and arraignment for Hickman has been set for July 1 in Van Buren County Circuit Court. He has posted $5,000 bond and has been released from the Van Buren County Detention Center.
