I want to remind all of you there will not be a breakfast on the first Saturday in January.
The following are some of the winners from the Senior Center’s Fun Day on Dec. 8: James Foreman was the winner of the pool tournament. Hattie Grills was the successful bidder on the poker table and storage chest. Rhonda Nelson got the beaded hanging table; and Earl Tatum was the successful bidder of the porch glider.
A lot of Scotland folk have been to the doctors the last couple of weeks. We wish them well and pray for their quick recover.
Remember to purchase tickets on the raffle (on sale at Dunhams’ Grocery) set for noon on Dec 22 at the school cafeteria. At this time there will be a free Christmas Dinner for anyone in the community that will not be going somewhere or will be alone that day. This is provided by some of the ladies in the community that wants to share Christmas joy.
James and Joyce Burns are going to have a white Christmas in Anchorage. They will be visiting Tim and Jennifer and of course the grandchildren, Nathan and Sydney. The snow is about a foot deep and the temp is 5.

The cold weather has finally hit us up here on the hill! The ground is white with frost in the mornings. It sure gets you into the Christmas spirit with the cold weather. I hope ya’ll are ready because Christmas is less than 10 days away as I write this.
On our birthday note, I would like to wish our King, Jesus Christ a very happy birthday on Dec. 25. We would also like to wish Lily Woodward a very happy 7th birthday on Dec. 13. She is the daughter of Lucas and Laura Emberton! Kelly Hinkson celebrated his 46th birthday on Dec. 12. Happy Birthday! Jonathan Prout turned 20 on Dec. 9 and his dad Tom Prout will be 49 on Dec. 22! Happy birthday guys!
Tom and Sharon Prout celebrated their wedding anniversary on Dec. 15.
Plant Baptist Church will have a Christmas reading out of the book of Luke on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. Come out and share the story of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We mourn the loss of one of our old neighbors, Ben Williams. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife Ab, who is currently at the nursing home in Greenbrier. We sent our condolences to the Williams family.
I hope you take a moment and remember what his glorious holiday is all about. All the gifts and food and family time is wonderful, but it is truly all about the birth Jesus.

We have a lost pet. Samson is a long hair, male, Siamese cat who was last seen on Shady Grove road. His family would like him home for the holidays. Please call Randi 757-0403 if you find or have seen him. Photos of Samson are posted at the Dennard post office. While Samson’s family were out looking for him they found a black and white spotted female dog. You can use this same number if this is your lost pet.
Santa and the road department are busy working together to bring residents on Whistle Stop road an early Christmas present and are working on their road. Since we are talking about being busy, be sure to get your packages to the post office and mailed early. This is a very busy time of year for the post office and I’ve been told that you have to have your priority packages mailed by Dec. 21 if you want them there by Christmas.
In the spirit of helping others the Ozark Health volunteers could use a few more able bodies to give of their time at the hospital.
