All is good out here on the mountain and we got a good cold snap with a frost. Hope ya’ll remembered to bring in those plants! Winter gardens are looking fine with the rainfall that we have had. It is a good time to cooking up a “mess” of collard greens.
Penzil Moody is in the Ozark Health Nursing Home doing physical therapy for her fractured arm. We wish her well and she welcomes company.
Plant Baptist Church is holding its Fall Festival from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 3.
Highway 110 will be having its monthly meeting open to all in the community at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the firehouse on Elba Road. Hope to see you there!

Scotland Do not forget breakfast at the cafeteria on the first Saturday in November. That is Nov. 3 at 8 a.m. Cost is $5. See you all then. Two chances to hear bluegrass gospel singers the Harper Family. They will be at the Scotland Lighthouse Church on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. The next day, the singers will be at Scotland Baptist Church at 6 p.m. James Burns has a birthday on Nov. 5. Be sure to wish the old fellow a Happy Birthday. The Community Corp.’s hayride and chili supper on Oct. 27 saw a good turnout. Hay was donated by Steve Linkenogger. The Scotland Baptist Church also had a hayride and chili and wiener roast. They had a good turn out and everyone had a great time. The Scotland Senior Center had its pool tournament and the winners are: first place, Glendale Rogers; second place, James Forman; and third place, Earl Tatum.

This last week we’ve been enjoying the many fall events going on in the community. Right now is the peak of the fall season when all the leaves are in full color. “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” — by Albert Camus. I just love this time of year and am looking forward to November and the gathering of friends and family.
Early voting has started with the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
