A Clinton man has been arrested in connection with two recent burglaries.
Jared Larry Martin, 31, was arrested Jan. 18, 2013, on a warrant on a charge of theft by receiving. The charge involved the theft of a vehicle in September 2012 from Mitchell’s Auto in Clinton.
Investigators executing a search warrant at Martin’s apartment found several items believed to have been stolen in recent burglaries, according to a news release from the Van Buren County sheriff’s office. Investigators estimate the worth of the recovered items at $20,000, the sheriff’s office said.
Martin has also been charged with residential burglary and theft of property, both felonies, and theft by receiving. He has been released on $2,500 bond.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Fairfield Bay Police, the Arkansas State Police and the 20th Judicial Drug Crime Task Force.
