Dozer stolen from work site

The Van Buren County sheriff’s office is investigating the theft of a bulldozer from a construction site just north of Archey Creek Flooring on Highway 65 in Clinton.

The dozer, a 2006 John Deere 650 cab/air, was last seen the evening of Tuesday, June 18. When the owner showed up to work Wednesday morning, the dozer was gone. The thieves had driven the dozer south through the woods about 200 yards to the Archey Creek Flooring parking lot. From there, it was loaded onto a trailer and hauled away.

Investigators are looking for a white Volvo semi-truck (dual axle) and a lowboy trailer hauling a John Deere Dozer that was seen traveling north on Highway 65 North around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19. Investigators believe the same tractor/trailer was seen on Highway 254 around 6:45 a.m. While this vehicle is of interest to investigators, they are not ruling out the dozer being hauled off on a gooseneck-style trailer.

The Van Buren County sheriff’s office is offering a $1,000 cash reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime. All leads will remain confidential as will payment of any reward money. Anyone with helpful information is asked to call 745-3838.
