The Van Buren County Museum’s hours are now hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday (except for holidays). The museum will also be open on Fridays beginning March 1. The 2013 Van Buren County Historical Society calendars are now available at the museum for $10 each.
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Shirley will host the Arkansas Revival Choir lead by Paul Jackson of Little Rock at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. The choir will present the Christmas musical “Noel.” Refreshments will be served after the performance. Everyone is welcome.
The Clinton After Prom Party Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in the hospitality room at Yellow Jacket Arena to start planning for this spring’s After Prom Party. The Damascus Eastern Star is holding its monthly breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Doric Lodge #471 F&AM on Highway 65 and 285 West in Damascus. The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, coffee and juice. Donations for the meal go to charities. Everyone is welcome.
A Private Pesticide Applicator Training for Van Buren County conducted by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Van Buren County Extension office will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at First Service Bank in Clinton. This two-hour training is primarily for producers of some sort of agricultural product who purchase and apply Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP’s). There is a $10 charge at the door; pre-registration is not required. For more information call the Extension Office at 745-7117.
The Conway Men’s Chorus will sing traditional favorites and soul-stirring songs of the season at its 15th annual Christmas performance at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Admission and parking are free.
