Law enforcement officers arrested six people in five separate cases over the course of 10 days.
On July 18, Dale Brown, 72, of Clinton was arrested by the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force and Van Buren County sheriff’s deputies. The arrest came after a search warrant was executed at Brown’s home. About 21 marijuana plants, a small amount of of processed marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were seized, a news release from the prosecutor’s office said.
Brown was arrested on charges of manufacture of a controlled substance-marijuana, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a citation and is due in court on Sept. 9 for plea and arraignment.
On July 19, Jimmy Moudy Jr., 30, and Kimberly Davidson, 21, both of Shirley, were arrested in Shirley after a chase and manhunt. Davidson was found by deputies in short order after barricading herself in a nearby residence, according to a news release from the prosecutor’s office.
Moudy was arrested by Sheriff Scott Bradley and deputies a short time later. Both suspects were tracked down by the task force’s K-9 Klodo. Bradley attributed the quick arrests to Klodo’s tracking ability.
Moudy and Davidson each are charged with possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts; and fleeing, two counts, the prosecutor’s office said. They are facing bond revocation and are being held at the county jail.
On July 25, an investigation by the task force, sheriff’s office, Clinton Police Department and Arkansas State Police led to the arrest of Brian McConnell, 41, of Clinton. He has been charged with manufacture of a controlled substance-marijuana; possession of a controlled substance-marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia, the news release said.
Also July 25, Gabriel Brinkley, 25, of Formosa was arrested and charged with possession of a counterfeit substance, the news release said. He was still in the county jail Tuesday afternoon.
On July 28, Charles J. Dowell II, 23, of Greenbrier was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the news release. He was arrested after an investigation by the Drug Task Force, Fairfield Bay Police Department and the sheriff’s office. As of Tuesday, Dowell was in jail awaiting a first appearance.
