A Place in the Heart, to Rochelle Stewart, librarian for Shirley High School. “My mother, Claudia Bradford Potter, is a 1942 graduate of Shirley, and my grandmother, the late Sallie Bradford, taught for many years throughout Van Buren County during the
1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s. I wanted to honor both my mother and grandmother by adding this book to the Shirley High School library,” Murphy said. Thenbook is about the area, people, and lifestyle of residents of the Higden community before Greer’s Ferry Lake covered most of the area in the 1960’s.
EAST gets boost
BHP Billiton Petroleum has donated $25,000 to five EAST programs in north central Arkansas counties to support local student-driven projects. Clinton High School is among the participating schools.
