More than a thousand people turned out for the Clinton Fire Department’s Scare on the Square last week. There were all sorts of costumes on parade as well as candy, hot chocolate, hot dogs, music and a bouncy house.
There were a couple of contests as well, including a decorating competition sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The winner was the Adult Education Center. Second place went to Clinton City Hall and in third was First Service Bank.
In the Dirty Farmers Community Market pumpkin-carving contest, best overall went to Kenzie Rachel. Other winners in the contest were Ayden Hayes, Tayler Rachel, Jordan Brock, Hannah Baker, Natalie Brock, Hallie Baker, Keegan Hays, Timothy Baker and Tyler Baker.
Susie Allen set up a fire pit outside her hair salon, handing out treats, making s’mores and taking photographs. She reminds those whose photo she took to come by her shop and pick them up at no cost in a couple of weeks.
Downtown wasn’t the only place for Halloween events, as Mainstreet Kids and some other groups and classes showed off their costumes as well.
