Ozark Opportunities Inc. announces its Winter Crisis Home Energy Assistance Program will begin Feb. 10, 2014.
The program provides assistance to eligible low-income households with energy-related crisis or shut-off on the date of application.
The Van Buren County outreach office is now taking appointments. Those applying for assistance need to call 745-2437 for an appointment on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 8-11 a.m. The office, at 100 Success Drive, at the Courthouse Annex on Highway 65, will be open 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Feb. 10.
Assistance for non-emergency utility assistance (HEAP, regular) is still available through March 31, 2014, or until funds are depleted.
Applicants are required to furnish proof of income for all household members. Other information may also be requested.
Ozark Opportunities will continue accepting and processing applications received through the mail. Applications may be picked up at the office or downloaded from www.OzarkOpp.org.
