A group of Clinton Junior High School students from the After School program recently participated in a 5K walk/run.
Students trained at least twice a week for 10 weeks in preparation for the event, which was funded by a 21st CCLC grant.
Winners of the seventh-ninth-grade boys competition were: first place, Bradley Amos; second place, Mitchell McNeill; and third place, Anthony Comstock.
In the seventh-ninth-grade girls competition, Bailey Lovell took first place, Morgan Barnes came in second and third place went to Haley Pearson.
Top finishers in the sixth-grade boys division were: first place, Austin Drake; second place, Ethen Drake; and third place, Weston Amos.
In the sixth-grade girls competition, Natalie Alexander finished first, Lauren Wells was second, and Brianna Yount took third place.
