South Side graduate wins scholarships

Lindsey Triplett, a 2013 graduate of South Side High School, Bee Branch, has received a Distinguished Scholars award from Arkansas Tech University beginning with the fall 2013 semester.

The Distinguished Scholars award is valued at $4,500 per semester. Lindsey additionally has been honored to receive the following scholarship awards to assist with her continued education: Van Buren County Fair Scholarship, $500; North Central Arkansas District Fair Scholarship, $1,000; Marjorie Fain Memorial Scholarship, $1,000; Arkansas Challenge, $14,000; Clinton Area Rotary Club, $500; South Side FFA Booster Club Claud Johnson Memorial Scholarship, $350; and Arkansas FFA I.L. “Ish” Stivers Memorial Scholarship, minimum of $500.

Lindsey is enrolled at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and will begin classes this fall majoring in Agriculture Business-pre vet. Lindsey is the daughter of Angela and the late Earl Triplett of Damascus.
