Nature, flowers on exhibit at hospital

Story and photo by Joyce Hartmann

If you can’t find enough flowers outside to suit your fancy, then take a walk through Ozark Medical Center on Highway 65 south of Clinton. The hallways are blooming with a cheery art exhibit featuring 36 still life and floral paintings: magnolias, roses, sunflowers, coneflowers, iris, daffodils, poppies, lilies, clematis, and gorgeous bouquets of spring blooms. The exhibit is free and remains through July 15; it may be viewed from 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. daily.

The theme is appropriate for Mother’s Day, featuring gifts of flowers that will last a lifetime.

Artists are members of the North Central Arkansas Artist League, and include Ellen Kelly, Doris Sexson, Charlotte Rierson, Michelle Bry, Jeanne Homuth, Ruby Krimm, Alison Shreck, Connie Hood, Freda May, Van Swink, and Lea Berry, all of Fairfield Bay; Mary Shelton of Cabot; Louise Shaw of Quitman; Judy Shumann of Diamond Bluff; Diana Foote and Joan Bland of Holley Mountain.; and Joyce Hartmann, hospital art coordinator, of Choctaw.
