Storage unit burglarized

The Van Buren County sheriff’s office received a call from a storage renter that their storage building had been burglarized. On Feb. 27, the rentor reported that someone had cut the padlock off her mini storage unit in Bee Branch. Among the items stolen were fishing equipment, fishing tackle and home furnishings.

The sheriff’s office is offering a $500 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for this theft. Anyone with information is asked to call 745-3838. All information will be kept confidential.

Thieves strike Shirley home

The Van Buren County sheriff’s office received a call that a home had been burglarized on Feb 20, 2014. Investigators learned some specific details of this break-in that will help in the investigation. Among items taken were a TV, stereo equipment and cash. The sheriff’s office is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the burglary.
