Open wallets for ‘Empty Bowls’

On Friday evening April 17, Clinton Art and EAST students donated their time and talents to support the Choctaw Food Bank.

The “Empty Bowls” supper was the school’s first. Art students donated their hand-made pottery bowls. Crock pots of soup and desserts were supplied by teachers and community supporters. EAST students helped get the word out by supplying posters and invitations. Student volunteers served up a variety of homemade soups and decadent desserts.

The “Empty Bowls” supper collected donations of $5 or more for a bowl of soup, dessert, and drinks. Participants got to keep the bowls. Amy Johnson and Jenny Betnar provided music and song.

The goal of $500 was raised and next year promises to be bigger and better.
