James Kirkendoll announces that he will seek another term for the Republican nomination as justice of the peace for the 3rd District of Van Buren County.
Kirkendoll is a graduate of Shirley High School and holds a Masters in Secondary School Leadership from the University of Central Arkansas. He was a teacher at Shirley Public Schools for 17 years and was principal at Scotland for one year. He is currently employed with the North Central Career Center as an adult education instructor in Clinton.
Kirkendoll lives on Banner Mountain at Shirley with his wife, Gail, secretary at the Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church. They have three daughters, Michelle Burgess, Misty Buchanan and Sheila Gardner. Kirkendoll also serves his community as chairman of the board for the Shirley Volunteer Fire Department.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have faithfully served my district in the past and respectfully request continued support,” Kikendoll states.
Kirkendoll retired as a commander, U.S. Navy, after 21 years of service; he is a member of the Fairfield Bay VFW, the American Legion, the Arkansas Education Association; and serves on the county’s budget and road committees.
