Helping the fight against hunger in Arkansas

On Sept. 9, 30 members of the Clinton Junior High School Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club volunteered at the Arkansas Rice Depot.

The Rice Depot donates these items to those in need through four different programs. These programs include Food for Kids, Food for Families, Food for Seniors, and Disaster Relief.

Their volunteer efforts were done in a three-hour time frame. During that time they were able to box 13 cases of feminine hygiene products, 42 cases of adult diapers, 59 paper products, 138 cases of baby diapers, 6,000 loaves of bread, and 7,560 bags of pasta.

Each club member also donated either a can of pasta sauce or box of instant potatoes.

The Clinton Junior High FCCLA club participates in this event annually.
