The Crabtree EH Club hosted the VBC Extension Homemakers Club Fall Council on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Four Square Community Church. The theme for the council meeting was compassion and to show true compassion each club brought personal items, created into a table centerpiece, to be donated to the county’s DHS Foster Children Program.
All active clubs were present to participate in the day’s activities which included a program on compassion, a potluck luncheon, a short business meeting, and an auction of items members brought for the sale. The active EH clubs present were: Alread, Chimes, Crabtree, Damascus, Formosa, and Highway 110. Anyone who is interested in participating in a club or starting a new club should contact Regina Chaney, FCS Agent, at the VBC Cooperative Extension Office in Clinton, 745-7117.
During the luncheon containers were passed for three community service projects, Pennies for Friendship, which collected $13.83; Dove House, $32.50; and Food for Life, $22.79. The auction, to raise funds for community service projects, netted $194.04
