Colonial Dames

Mary Place Chapter of Colonial Dames XVII Century met recently at the home of Fern Taylor in Searcy for a luncheon meeting

The meeting was called to order by Cay Jones, president, who led the opening ritual assisted by Linda Hokenson filling in as chaplain. Business of the chapter was conducted and officers and committee reports were given, which included planning for the 100 Anniversary of Celebration which will take place in 2015. A report of the State Conference was given by Cay Jones and Jo Kilduff.

Fern Taylor reported the papers of seven new members, all of Joyce Walker’s family, have been accepted. They are Linda Walker Hokenson, Sandra “Susie” Stufflebeam, Kathryn Elizabeth “Beth” Barnett, Airel Rogers, Rebecca Walker Oberlay and Katherine Dobbs.

Installation of the newly elected officers was conducted and the chapter than discussed the coming year’s schedule regarding meeting dates, places and programs.
