Clinton students shop for Angels

Clinton Junir and Senior High Student Council members spent the afternoon of Dec. 6 shopping for gifts for the Van Buren County Angel Tree program.

There were approximately 125 Angels that the students purchased gifts for. The day included a stop at Pizza Hut for lunch, then on to Family Dollar, Dollar General and Walmart. Then it was on to the Methodist Church to wrap all the presents, eat a snack and get back to school just in time to catch the bus home.

This is one of the many community projects that students participate in throughout the school year. School club sponsors initiate projects like this one in order to teach students community responsibility and service. At any given time there are multiple projects in the works by different clubs and groups on Clinton School campuses. Some of those are the FBLA Blood Drive, MUTTS Animal Shelter, BETA Club reading to elementary students, FCCLA’s No Texting & Driving Pledge Awareness Campaign, and the Student Council Food Drive. Junior High Student Council members are: Tori Johnson, Caleb Nichols, Kaitlyn Grimes, Savanah Trujillo, Ashley Bothwell, Brittaney Gobert, Caycee Lonnon, Logan Nichols, Kylie Blanton, Josh Pryor, Ashley Arnold, Alyssa McKnight, Avery Bramlett, Tori Bradford and Lucas Potts. Sponsors are Stephanie Treece & Tracy Sutterfield Senior High Student Council members are: Tiffany Booth, Cameron Beem, Kaitlyn Weaver, Lizbeth Hernandez, Hannah Stoltzfus, Josh Berry, Kali Wright, Jordan Bates, Kayla Kipfer.
