An account has been set up at First Security Bank in Clinton for donations for the family of Linda Rice, who was killed in a car accident earlier this month, according to branch Vice President Cheryl Ragland.
The Bee Branch Water Association has received a $1,229,700 loan from the USDA Rural Development Agency. This loan will be used to replace 40-year-old pumps at three pumping stations and to construct an additional one-day storage tank at a problem location. Also, these funds will be used for waterline construction to improve a low pressure service area. In addition $285,700 of the loan will be used for refinancing existing loans at a 2.75 percent interest rate, according to association President Nick Palangio. The loan was obligated on Aug. 8, 2013. U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor will join the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, to dedicate the White River Minimum Flows project. Pryor said this project will ensure Arkansas remains a top destination for trout fishing. The dedication will be at the Gaston’s Visitor Center, 153 Dam Overlook Lane, Bull Shoals, Ark.
