Annual Alzheimer’s walk set

Alzheimer’s walk set

The annual Greers Ferry Lake Area Alzheimer’s Arkansas Walk and Fundraiser takes place Saturday, Sept. 14, at Woodland Mead Park, 522 Dave Creek Parkway, Fairfield Bay. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with festivities concluding around noon.

Meredith Mitchell from KTHV, Channel 11, is honorary walk chair. Also on hand will be the Alzheimer’s Arkansas staff who can talk about services provided to help families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Teams are now forming. Door prizes and sponsorships are being solicited and your help is needed. Never mind if you cannot walk, many don’t. There is still much to do and enjoy not to mention the breakfast snacks provided by Indian Rocks Village and hot dogs provided by First Security Bank of Clinton. All attendees will receive two tickets for prizes to be drawn following the walk. You must be present to win.

Walk proceeds help to fund educational programs and family services provided by Alzheimer’s Arkansas. All family services are free of charge. Alzheimer’s Arkansas is an independent non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

For additional information call George Kelly, walk chairman, at (501) 884-6476.
