Saturday, Feb. 2, is the fifth annual Emergency Responders Dinner at the Clinton Senior Center. A free chili supper, hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and desserts will be served from 5:30-9 p.m. The dinner is in honor of those who were there for the community when a tornado struck on Feb. 5, 2008.
Tuesday, Feb. 5, is the date for a meeting to discuss starting a market for farmers, crafters and artists. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Petit Jean building in Clinton. For more information contact Jackie Sikes at 253-4716.
Damascus Chapter 515 Order of the Eastern Star will be serving breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Doric Lodge 471 F&AM on Highway 65 and 285 West in Damascus. The menu includes biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee. Donations go to charities. Everyone is welcome.
The Damascus Library will host a book-signing from 2-4 p.m. March 2 for Nancy Powell of Fort Smith, author of Dark Secrets, the first in a series of historical fiction. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
