The May 10 meeting of Maria Van Buren Chapter of DAR has been changed to noon May 24. Members will meet at the park in Clinton to dedicate a tree in memory of Adrianne Bone Wilbers, then go to the Memorial Wall and Courthouse to place flags and flowers.
The annual EH Council bake sale, plant sale and cookbook sale will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Cash Saver in Clinton.
May 10, Second Saturday at the Killebrew Theater in downtown Leslie, features Kickin’ Kountry with their special brand of country, blues and southern rock. Music starts at 7:30 p.m., admission is $5 and goes toward the upkeep of the Ozark Heritage Arts Center and the Killebrew.
Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. is the Clinton School Talent Show for grades 7-12 at the Clinton Schools Auditorium. Tickets are $2 at the door and proceeds benefit the Clinton School Migrant Program. Contact Sandie Jones at 745-6060 for details.
Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, is holding its 41st Annual Territorial Fair held on the museum’s historic grounds and inside the Museum Center, Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. During the afternoon, from 1 to 4 pm, the museum will host a pimiento cheese competition. Admission, activities and parking are free. Taking its cue from the Heritage Month theme, Come to the Table: Celebrating the Flavors of Arkansas, this year’s Territorial Fair celebrates Arkansas food heritage and connects today’s grow-your-own movement to a time when urban farming was commonplace.
