The Van Buren County Cattlemen will meet Monday, Jan. 14, at Western Sizzlin in Clinton. Eat at 6 p.m., meeting at 7 p.m. This month’s sponsor is First Service Bank.
The Van Buren County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Western Sizzlin in Clinton. To accommodate the speaker, Linda Scott, state president of the Akansas Retired Teachers Association, the date has been changed from its originally scheduled date of Jan. 15. She along with representatives from the local association will be meeting with the state ARTA Board on Jan. 15 to address the latest concerns likely to be brought up before the Legislature that affect retired teacher funds and other benefits. The Jan. 22 meeting is very important and all retired school personnel who receive a retirement check are urged to attend.
The American Red Cross blood drive will visit Van Buren County next week, making a stop at South Side High School in Bee Branch from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Jan. 16. To make an appointment to donate blood, call 800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org.
In Cahoots will perform for Second Saturday at the Killebrew in Leslie. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Admission is $5 and all proceeds go to the upkeep of the theater and the Ozark Heritage Foundation.
The next regular meeting of the Clinton Municipal Airport Commission will be 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the airport terminal building.
